A wander around Perugia

After a few days of mist, pouring rain, thunder and lightning (cue a leaky ceiling yay) the sun finally decided to reappear today. So, seeing as I have a mostly empty timetable at the moment, I thought I would make the most of it and go for a wander.
It was weird how as soon as my camera was out and I started looking for nice photo-worthy things, I saw so much stuff that I've never noticed. It's like I've been walking around with my eyes closed!
Obviously there are the lovely views that you just can't miss, but I've never properly looked at some of the buildings, or inside some of the cute shops. I started looking at Perugia in a completely different way, and have developed a new love for it!
So, this is a very photo-heavy blog post but if you would like to have a little mosey around Perugia with me, keep reading...

I started by wandering up my street, and straight away saw how colourful some of the buildings are, which I've never noticed, as well as how narrow the street is and how it curves.

I'd never noticed the huge key before!
I then went up to Piazza IV Novembre, which I like to think is the proper 'centre' of Perugia - everyone knows where it is, and it is kind of the highest point of the city. A good meeting place and very beautiful!
I then headed down the main street from here (unsure of the name, oops) right down to Piazza Italia, which is a piazza surrounded by lots of very posh and important buildings and banks. It also has a cute carousel in the middle, and if you walk a bit further, the most beautiful views...

This guy was just stood in the peace and quiet writing in a notebook, looking pensive

How gorgeous?!
I then headed back in the other direction, and just got some pictures of things I found nice or interesting...

A shop literally full of lavender!

Found a very eager shop, full of Christmas decorations already!

All the walking was too much, I just had to have a break...
Then the sun started to set...

The carousel turned on its lights!

This guy was enjoying the sunset with a book...

...and this couple were having a nice moment.

Quite a nice place, isn't it? I've spent the last few days not doing much because of the crappy weather, and feeling a bit frustrated and bored as my lessons aren't properly starting until December. But after this walk I've realised I don't mind being bored in such a beautiful place!
