Music favourites #1

Seeing as music is a pretty big part of my life, and a mini New Years Resolution is to start listening to much more, I thought I would post my current favourites every now and again.

So, here's what I'm listening to on repeat at the moment...

1. Tom Misch - So Close and Memory. He manages to make steel pans sound cool in Memory, which in itself should be applauded.

2. Ed Prosek - Weak Heart. I found this song sometime in November and straight away fell in love with it. He has a few other songs on Spotify that are all the perfect balance of chilled yet not depressing, something I think I personally shall never ever master!

3. Gregory Porter - No Love Dying. Search for this, put your headphones on, turn it up and relax. This is my favourite mix of instruments; soft brushy drums, double bass, lush piano chords and a velvety smoothy bassy voice over the top. And of course a cheesy sax solo half way through.

4. The Staves -Blood I Bled. Just a really good song. I love them.

5. Ella Fitzgerald - Do I Love You? I feel this is a song everyone knows, but I've only recently found it. To be honest, the song doesn't particularly amaze me, but the lyrics and Ella's voice. So lovely.

Go and have a listen to these! And comment if you have any music to share.
