Yesterday was the first Christmas concert for the choir I'm in at the University per Stranieri (Uni for foreigners). I didn't have much information about the whole thing except to wear black and be at the bus for 12pm, but I managed to complete both of these tasks (woo!).
We travelled eastwards on a coach for around an hour and a half before arriving in Camerino. The roads were ridiculously windy for such a big bus and some of the drops you could see at the side of the road were eye-watering. So I didn't look.
Camerino itself is a very quaint little town. It was very very quiet but that was probably down to the fact it was the 8th December which is a holiday day for Italy (it is the day of the 'Immaculate Conception' of Mary).
Anyway, I took a few photos as we had a (cold) wander around between the rehearsal and concert.
I can't remember or find the names of the duomo and the viewpoints but hope they look nice anyway!

Apologies for this blurry last photo!
The actual concert went really well - we sang with two other choirs and an orchestra so there were a lot of people on stage, but there was also a really good audience turnout.
In England, a similar Christmas concert would probably be quite formal. But when it got busy and audience seats ran out, people just crowded round the sides, took photos and videos, walked across the front in between songs, clapped randomly when they liked things, and just generally did what they wanted. Italians, ey. But it was nice for it to be so informal and relaxed, and everyone loved the music - we did two encores!
Once we got back to Perugia the conductor had booked a table at a Pizzeria for us which was lovely of him. The pizza was amazing (although it was about 9:30pm and I'd only eaten cereal and a chocolate pastry all day so any food was going to taste good) and gave everyone the chance to chat and relax.
All in all a lovely day, and I am officially in full Christmas spirit!
